Although, to be perfectly honest, I didn’t take APUSH, I took Honors US History. A lot of the APUSH kids told me to take the AP test though, because we learned more than they did. I didn’t though, I don’t think, but I did wind up taking the US History SAT II to impress NYU.

Can we please abolish the term “grammar Nazi?” Relating someone who’s a little picky on spelling/grammar/pronunciation with Hitler and his ilk is more than a little harsh, more than a little exaggeration, and more than a little offensive. No one’s going to kill you over a misplaced apostrophe. Except for maybe her.

English is a notoriously wonky language, I gotta admit. If I weren’t a native English speaker, I don’t know if I’d bother learning it.

One day, during world history, my teacher mispronounced Versailles. VERSAILLES. As in the Treaty of Versailles. As in, you’re a fucking social studies teacher, you should know this shit by now. And she’s still teaching at my high school, leading more and more students down her path of mediocrity.
