First and foremost, I want to take a moment to thank you for your support over the course of this campaign.

Whether you donated your time volunteering in an office, gave up your weekend plans to make calls on my behalf, or gave up a few dollars to help our fight – I am truly grateful for everything you have done for this campaign and my candidacy.

This campaign has been a long journey, but one I would never give up. I am so touched by all the Virginians I have met in my travels across the Commonwealth and the stories they have shared.

I ran for Governor to bring opportunity, prosperity, and hope to every corner of this Commonwealth. While I fell short of my goal, I will not let these results stop me from continuing to fight for the working families of Virginia.

This chapter is closed, but the next chapter has yet to be written.

I will never be able to fully express my gratitude for all you have given me over the past few months, so tonight, simply I thank you.

I’ve been at work — temping — all day. It was my first day so I was trying to feel out how they’d take to me not staying on task. Although I had nothing to do for the last three hours I was there… anywho.

Chile, let me tell you about my day! If you didn’t know, I do temp work at Georgetown, right, and this was my first, like, office job, so I show up relatively on time — maybe a couple of minutes late because of that damn barista at Saxbys — and the guy is like, “Do you have a Net ID?” And I’m like, “This is only my third assignment, I don’t have one.” So he’s like, “We can’t work until you get it sorted out.”

So I walk across campus to the university services folks, right, and I’m like, here’s my ID, let’s make this happen. So they reset my password, right, and I head back to the office, try to log in for the next… 15 or so minutes and it didn’t work. And my new boss is breathing down my back, like, “The temp office needs to get their act together, I can’t believe they haven’t been checking up on stuff like this, and OMG why can’t you log in?” and I’m freakin’ out on the inside, and then he’s like, “It shouldn’t take this long, call those tech people back.” So I did, and they told me that they couldn’t reset anything without looking at my ID again.

I had to walk back to damn university services, they reset my password, and apparently it was something wrong with their system because they did it again and I had the sense to sit down at a computer while I was there to make sure the damn thing worked, and THANK JEEBUS it did and by the time I had my user and password all sorted out it was 10:30.

I was also a little late coming back from lunch and I started nodding off in the last hour I was there.

Terrible.

My one solace is that my new boss has an affinity for the word “Damn.” I think we might get along.

That’s an exciting development. My friends are hosting it at their place, but I’m cooking. I’m pretty excited about that. It makes me feel like an adult to make Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, I still need reassurance about being an adult.

Woo-hoo! Have you decided on a menu yet? That’s the most stressful part, next to actually executing it.

Definitely cornish hens. I don’t like turkey enough to go to the hassle of learning to do it and none of my friends want any, either. Have to have dressing (stuffing). Mashed potatoes and gravy. I don’t know what green vegetables, though.

If I get too overwhelmed, I’ll just order the rest from Fresh Direct. They make some delicious things.

Last year on the Food Network, Alton Brown did a special all about the perfect turkey then ended it by cooking a cornish hen on a panini press. He hates turkey, too.
